This is our second year of homeschooling and this year has been filled with great reads already! As a rookie homeschool mom of 4 our reading looks different everyday. During our first year I got really disheartened when attention spans only lasted 15 minutes. I felt like I simply wasn’t reading enough. Now being into our second year, I realized we just needed a year to warm up and adjust to our new normal. We have read more this year and my youngest who is 2 is also a lot more willing to go with the flow as well. Huge win for my mental state!
If you are in the trenches as a new homeschool mom, hang in there and dont throw in the towel! The adjustment phase for us was not a few weeks or months but an entire year of pivots and repostioning! It gets better, I promise.
Let’s get into it!
